Dragon Ball / DBZ / DBS characters

Dragon Ball est un manga écrit par le mangaka Akira Toriyama et qui est apparu pour la première fois en 1984 dans le light novel Weekly Shōnen Jump. Il a par la suité été adapté en animé, pour devenir l’un des shonens les plus connus au monde, aux côtés de One Piece et de Naruto. Il existe plusieurs séries d’animation, représentant les différentes saisons de l’animé : Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z et finalement Dragon Ball Super. Chaque arc suit les aventures de Son Goku et son évolution dans la conquête des Dragon Balls. C’est dans sa quête qu'il rencontre de nombreux personnages. Découvrons les ensembles !

Son Goku

Son Goku is the main character of Dragon Ball, which has gained a cult following among otakus the world over. Behind his appearance as a brutal, powerful warrior lies a sensitive being, always ready to fight to protect his loved ones and the Earth.

Mysterious origins

Although Son Goku was raised on Earth, he is actually a Saiyan: an extraterrestrial race with superhuman powers. His real name is Kakarot and he was born in 734 on the planet Vegeta. When he was just a baby, his parents sent him to Earth in a spaceship to escape the destruction of his planet by the tyrant Freezer.

Upon his arrival on Earth, he was taken in by the elderly Son Gohan, who gave him the name Goku. Son Gohan also became his sempai, teaching him martial arts and fighting in general. Following an accident, Goku lost his memory and forgot his Saiyan origins.

A warrior with a big heart

Despite his bully exterior, Goku is actually a naive, loyal and kind-hearted character. He loves fighting above all else, and regularly takes part in the legendary Tenkaichi Budokai martial arts tournament. Behind this thirst for combat lies a hero ready to do anything to protect those closest to him, in particular his wife Chichi and his two sons Gohan and Goten (discovered later in the series).

Legendary transformations

Throughout his adventures, Goku has had to face powerful enemies such as Piccolo, the Saiyans, Freezer, Cell and Boo. To defeat them, he developed legendary fighting techniques such as the Kamehameha. But above all, he has learned to transform into a Super Saiyan, a state of superhuman power that makes him one of the most formidable fighters in the universe. There are several forms of Super Saiyan, which Son Goku masters as he continues his quest for the Dragon Balls:

Bulma

Bulma is one of the few female main characters in Dragon Ball. A genius scientist and fearless adventurer, she's not afraid to take on the most powerful beings in the galaxy. Thanks to her uncommon intelligence, she is often the mastermind behind the plans of Son Goku and his friends.

An inventor of genius

Daughter of the famous scientist Monsieur Brief, Bulma showed an innate talent for technology and invention from an early age. It was she who created the famous capsules that enable large objects to be stored in small spaces. She also possesses radar, making her indispensable to Son Goku's team in finding the Dragon Balls. Throughout the adventure, Bulma will create numerous inventions, such as Trunks' time machine.

A fiery temperament

Despite her fragile appearance, Bulma has a strong character. She doesn't hesitate to verbally confront Goku or to reprimand him when he does stupid things. Even in the face of super-powered beings like Beerus, the god of destruction, Bulma doesn't look down and even dares to slap him!

A loving mother

As the story unfolds, Bulma falls in love with Vegeta and becomes his wife. Together, they have two children, Trunks and Bra. This marriage, though surprising, shows that behind her image as a strong, independent woman, Bulma is also a loving, devoted mother.

Vegeta

Vegeta is one of the most important characters in the Dragon Ball universe. Initially presented as an antagonist, this Saiyan prince gradually evolves to become an ally of Son Goku.

A proud and arrogant Saiyan prince

Born of the Saiyan race, Vegeta is the prince of this legendary line of warriors. After the destruction of his planet by Freezer, he becameGoku's sworn enemy, seeking to assert his superiority.

From antagonist to ally

Despite his icy attitude and his desire to defeat Goku, Vegeta gradually evolves over the course of the adventure. Beginning as a simple antagonist, he eventually becomes Goku's rival, then ally. This evolution makes Vegeta one of the most fascinating characters in the manga. What's more, despite his unpleasant side, Vegeta seems totally under the spell of Bulma, his wife. He's able to deploy an unprecedented amount of energy to protect his beloved.

Vegeta is one of the most powerful fighters in Dragon Ball. Mastering legendary techniques such as the Big Bang Attack, he remains determined to surpass Son Goku. Krillin

Krillin is one of the most iconic characters in Dragon Ball. He first appears as a rival to young Goku, but soon becomes his best friend. Small in stature but big at heart, Krillin is known for his bald head and six points on his forehead, having trained as a monk.

An unrivalled fighter

Despite his less imposing physique than other warriors, Krillin is an excellent fighter. He masters techniques such as the Kienzan (sharp disk) and the Kamehameha, which he uses with surgical precision. His courage and tenacity have won him many crucial battles against formidable enemies.

A loyal and courageous friend

Krillin is not only a formidable fighter, but also an excellent and trustworthy friend. Incomparably loyal, he makes many decisions in support of his friendship with Goku. Whether throwing himself into battle to help his friends or providing moral support, Krillin is the pillar his loved ones can always count on.

A comic character

Beyond his role as a fighter, Dragon Ball fans appreciate Krillin for the comic edge he brings to the series. We all remember his exaggerated reactions when confronted with embarrassing situations, such as when interacting with female characters or facing super-powered enemies. Yamcha

When we first meet Yamcha in Dragon Ball, we see a desert bandit who fears women and attacks travelers to survive. But after meeting Goku and Bulma, he radically changes course and abandons his life as a bandit to become a warrior affiliated with the Z Fighters. Recognizable by his long black hair and the scar on his face, Yamcha is a character who shows that it's possible to repent and change.

From bandit to warrior

Yamcha's evolution from bandit to respected fighter is marked by his participation in several world martial arts tournaments and his battles against forces that threaten the Earth. Although not the strongest of warriors, his courage and determination to improve are notable. Yamcha works tirelessly to hone his martial arts skills and prove his worth to the group.

A real womanizer

Yamcha is best known for his love of women. He's known for his many love affairs, especially in his youth. While shy in his youth, he later became more confident and managed to attract attention with his charm.He built up a serious relationship with Bulma, even if it didn't last, following numerous arguments.

Yamcha isn't the most powerful warrior, but despite his many defeats he remains a reliable ally for Goku and the others. His constant loyalty and support, even in the most perilous situations, shows that a true hero is measured not only by his strength, but also by his heart.

Piccolo

Piccolo is the famous Dragon Ball character with green skin, pointed ears and a piercing gaze. Hailing from the warrior race of the Namekians, Piccolo appears at the start of the series as the reincarnation of the Demon King Piccolo, marking his entrance with dark intentions and fearsome power.

Mysterious origins

Piccolo was born of the last wish of the Demon King PiccoloPiccolo, his predecessor, an evil entity who wished to dominate the Earth. After his death, Piccolo is born with his memories and a quest for vengeance. This legacy of anger and pain influences his early behavior, but gradually changes over time.

From enemy to ally

Piccolo is initially presented as an enemy of Goku and a threat to Earth. But against all odds, as he faces greater dangers, he decides to ally himself with Goku and his friends. His transition from enemy to ally really takes shape when he trains with Goku's son Gohan and fights with the Z Fighters against common enemies.

A mentor

Piccolo becomes an essential mentor for Gohan, guiding him not only through fighting techniques, but above all offering crucial life lessons. Cold Demons, like Freezer, belong to a race of extraterrestrial beings capable of controlling their bodily energy to survive in extreme environments. Freezer, from this powerful lineage, uses this innate power to extend his empire and exercise his tyranny. His origin places him at the top of a family renowned for its strength and evil influence in the universe.

A formidable fighter in many forms

Freezer is one of a kind, thanks in particular to his ability to change shape. Each of his transformations makes him even more powerful in battle, making each confrontation more terrifying than the last. Here are his forms:

• Original form (1st form) This is Freezer's most common form, relatively small and with a natural bio-armor that covers most of his body.
  
  
• Second form Freezer: In this form, Freezer is much taller and more muscular. He resembles a larger, more brutal version of his first form.
  
  
• Third form This form is quite distinctive and looks a bit like a typical alien with an elongated skull. Freezer becomes faster and more agile in this form.
  
  
• Final shape Freezer's fourth form, and naturally his most powerful. He is more slender, with smooth skin. This form is also the true appearance of his race.
  
  
• 100% power form Although technically still in his final form, Freezer can increase his muscle mass to reach 100% of his maximum power. This makes him extremely powerful, but also reduces his speed.
  
  
• Golden Freezer A form obtained after intense training, Freezer turns golden and this transformation considerably increases his power.

Secondary characters

Son Gohan

Majin Boo

Trunks

Videl

Videl is the courageous daughter of Mr. Satan and Gohan's wife. She learns to fly and fight, taking an active part in the adventures of the Z Fighters, and shows exceptional courage.

Goten

Goten is Goku's youngest son. Known for his striking resemblance to his father, he reached the Super Saiyan stage at a very young age. Goten symbolizes the new generation of warriors.
